Als Archäologie-Professorin Isla Whelan (Lauren Holly) bei einer Routinearbeit einen alten eisernen Handschuh der Tempelritter aus dem 12. Jahrhundert und eine mysteriöse Karte entdeckt, ist ihre Neugier gepackt. Mit Hilfe der Karte findet sie einen verborgenen Raum, in dem eine uralte Metallbox mit kunstvollen Verzierungen versteckt ist. Doch als Professor Whelan die Box öffnet, verhilft sie einem uralten weiblichen Dämon zur Freiheit. Dieser Dämon verfügt über die Macht mit seinem Schrei alle zu töten, die ihn hören.
